An as-is container may have a patched repair that weeps, a soft or holed section of floor, a door seal that no longer seats, or perforation in a panel. Any one of those puts water inside, and a container that lets water in holds it, because there is nowhere for it to drain.
Genuine value if you are cutting it up, fitting it out, using it as a fenced compound or storing things that do not mind weather. A false economy for household storage, feed, tools, documents, upholstery or anything electrical. The gap to cargo-worthy is a few hundred dollars. The cost of a wet floor is everything standing on it.

Yes. Photos of the actual container are available on request and sent before delivery. That matters most in used grades, where two structurally sound units can look very different from each other.
We will say plainly when the cheaper grade is a false economy, because a wet container is a much more expensive problem than the few hundred dollars it saved.
