There is no container port on the Gold Coast, so every unit that lands here has come down the M1 from a Brisbane depot — about 80 km. That is a short, well-travelled run and it is priced accordingly, but it is a real cost and we would rather show it to you than bury it in a container price.

Guide figures, ex GST. Grade moves them more than size does, and the cartage to Gold Coast moves the total more than either. Full price list · how delivery is worked out.
Grades matter, and this is where a cheap container gets expensive. Cargo-worthy is the grade we check wind and watertight before it leaves the depot. As-is units are cheaper again and are not sold watertight — they may carry a patched repair, a soft spot in the floor or a door seal that no longer seats, and we will tell you exactly what is wrong with one before you buy it. New single-trip units are sealed and unmarked. If a container has to keep rain off what is inside it, buy cargo-worthy or better.
The bulk of the Gold Coast work is site storage on the builds through Pimpama, Coomera and the Hope Island corridor, secure trade storage across the industrial land at Yatala, Molendinar and Burleigh Heads, board rider and marine gear near the Broadwater and the Seaway, household storage during the endless supply of coastal renovations, and hire units for events and shutdowns.
Roughly 80 km of dual carriageway is one of the easier freight legs in the country, and a Gold Coast delivery is one of the shorter runs we quote. The published container prices do not change — used 20ft from $2,200 ex GST, new single-trip from $3,300 — and the cartage is quoted on top with the address in front of us.
Where it climbs is access rather than distance. A crane truck into a canal block costs more than a tilt-tray onto a Yatala hardstand, and that difference is usually bigger than the whole M1 leg.
A surprising share of Gold Coast enquiries are for containers going onto strata or body corporate land, and the delivery is rarely the hard part. The approval is. Check before you order whether the scheme permits it, where it is permitted to sit and for how long, because a container that has to be collected again a fortnight later is two truck movements you did not budget for.
If it is a temporary need on shared ground, hire is usually the more sensible structure. We quote the delivery and the collection together at the start so the end of the term does not arrive with a bill attached.
The Gold Coast splits neatly into easy and difficult. Yatala, Stapylton, Ormeau and the newer estates through Pimpama and Coomera are wide, flat and simple. The coastal strip is another matter. Canal-front blocks at Mermaid Waters, Broadbeach Waters and Paradise Point tend to have a narrow street frontage, a short drive, a pool or a deck where the room would otherwise be, and something planted or strung across the only line in. Duplex and body corporate ground has marked bays and no spare metres in any direction. In both cases the practical answer is a crane truck rather than a tilt-tray. The other Gold Coast factor is sand: the flat country behind the beaches looks perfectly firm and will not necessarily hold four crane pads or a loaded truck's drive axles. Photographs of the entry, the approach and the spot answer nearly every question we would otherwise have to ask.
Three things decide every delivery anywhere: width at the pinch point, length of the run-in, and what hangs above the spot. Measure the first, pace the second, look up for the third. See the access and delivery guide.
Used cargo-worthy 20ft from $2,200 ex GST and new single-trip 20ft from $3,300, with 40ft used from $2,600. Delivery is quoted separately — the unit comes down from a Brisbane port depot, about 80 km, which is a short and well-travelled run. Tight canal or duplex access needing a crane truck costs more, which is why we quote against the address rather than the town.
No. There is no container port on the Gold Coast and we are straight about that — units are trucked down from the Port of Brisbane depots. It is a short, efficient run, and it is quoted as freight rather than hidden inside the container price.
Usually, with a crane truck. Narrow frontages, short drives, pools, decks and overhead obstructions are the norm on canal-front blocks and a tilt-tray needs roughly twenty metres of straight run it will not find. A crane truck lifts over the obstacle instead. Send photos with your enquiry and we will confirm the vehicle before quoting.
