Four things to include in your budget.

1. The right container

Compare size, internal measurements and condition. Cargo-worthy units are checked wind and watertight; as-is containers are not sold watertight.

2. Delivery and access

Share the suburb, driveway conditions, gate width and unloading position. A postcode alone cannot confirm the truck or final delivery charge.

3. Preparing the site

Discuss suitable ground and supports with the delivery team. Allow for any preparation your site needs before ordering materials.

4. Extras and hire collection

List locks, shelving or ventilation separately. If hiring, ask about duration, collection and any other fees. Compare the complete written quotes and their GST treatment.
